I like waking up next to streets with lots of people walking around. Like today. This was also the best venue of the tour, hands down. A really really good place with an amazing catering and nice backstagerooms. The venue-room itself is perfect with 3 stories balconys surrounding the place and its just the perfect size of a room.
The crowd was louder today, I could tell that by just watching the first few people that came RUNNING right after doors, screaming in happiness. We had the same promotiongirls as last night and they were handing out pins and guitarpicks to all the first people that came in to the venue. Some lucky ones even got bags and shirts! For me, this was one of the most fun shows of the tour. During ADTR's set we threw tons of toiletrolls of the stage, as usual, but more things happened later. A kid stood with a sign at the barrier in the front with “Let me play guitar during “The Downfall Of Us All”. He got to play the song and fucking nailed. It was just awsome. He took the stage like that was what he had been doing his whole life. It looked totally amazing, and sounded really great! He was also a member of one of the bands that was in the EASTPAK opening act competition. They didnt get to be on one of the shows, but he sure as hell took his revenge tonight.
After the show all of the bands and crew went out barhopping. Most of us ended up at a place called “Delirium”. Obviously the lot of us got shitfaced. I drank two really strong beers that Landon from Living With Lions gave me and they really worked their way. We cruised the club for a while until we dragged our asses back towards the bus and the foodjoints around the club.
Well there we found out that Vigil, The Ghost Inside singer, was trapped inside the club. The staff had not looked through the backstage rooms well enough and he just got locked in. All that for some shitty wifi. It took over four hours to get him out of there and we seriously tried EVERYTHING! We called all the promotors and staff whose numbers we could get ahold of but no one answered. We tried to call both the securitycompany of the house as well as the cops, but NOTHING worked.
After a while Erin from TGI just started to shout outside the room where Vigil was and some very very tired guy living above the venue stuck his head out and asked what the fuck his problem was. He then described the situation to him and eventually the guy came and opened for him. Very weird but awesome!
Oh, and another fun/weird thing that happened that night was when French that does merch for LWL accidently hit himself in the head with a streetsign when we almost got into a fight with some idiot hanging around the bus. I laughed so hard when I saw him bleeding from this eyebrow without even have beeing close to fighting. Hilarious!
